From November 30 to December 2, the master class on working out a microvascular suture was held at the Federal Center for Neurosurgery (Novosibirsk), in which 10 medical students from all over Russia took part ((Tula, Kostroma, Omsk, Tomsk, Gorno-Altaisk, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, Roston-on-Don, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk).
The lecturers at the master class were Andrey Vladimirovich Dubovoy (The head of the vascular department of the Center), and Konstantin Sergeevich Ovsyannikov ( neurosurgeon of the vascular department). The master class consisted of lectures, practical parts and demonstration operations.
At the doctor's workstation "LINS Machaon", preoperative planning of the ECMA creation (extra-intracranial microanastomosis) from a mini-access was performed. The recipient is an artery from the MCA basin. The donor is a branch of the superficial temporal artery. The site of the donor artery branch intersection , the search for the recipient artery and the area for creating a burr hole were determined. After planning, the operation was broadcast to the training room.
The practical part consisted in practicing manual skills on silicone tubes and biological material.
